Minister of Investment / SAPM / Chairman, Board of Investment, Pakistan Cabinet
Served under PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar; worked on foreign investment and economic policies.
I had the distinct privilege of serving as the Minister of Investment, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), and Chairman of the Board of Investment in the Pakistan Cabinet during the interim government under Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. In these roles, I worked closely with the Prime Minister and key officials to shape economic policies, foster foreign investment, and guide Pakistan through a critical period.
My efforts focused on creating an investor-friendly environment and promoting sustainable economic growth, contributing to long-term stability and development for the country. This experience was both professionally rewarding and a source of immense pride, as I was able to make a tangible impact on Pakistan’s economic landscape.
This experience has left me immensely proud of the work I was able to accomplish in public service and further strengthened my commitment to contributing to positive change in both local and global contexts.

- Hosted Vice President Joe Biden at my home for a conversation and fundraiser during the Democratic primaries.
- Served as a surrogate for Vice President Biden, founding and leading “Muslims for Biden,” which mobilized volunteers to make 15,000 calls to voters in key Florida counties with large Muslim populations. Additionally, I authored articles and blogs to amplify the Biden-Harris message and organized phone banks with groups like South Asians for Biden and Immigrants for Biden.
- Collaborated with Greg Schultz to build relationships with Muslim-American leaders, promoting unity and coalition-building via sermons at mosques across the U.S.
- Played a key role in rejuvenating the Jefferson County Democratic Party, hosting meetings and fundraisers, recruiting volunteers and poll workers, and ensuring voter turnout to keep the county Democratic. Additionally, I mentored the county chair to ensure ongoing success in future elections.
Fundraising & Coalition Building for DSCC + DCCC
- Hosted and participated in high-level fundraisers for critical Democratic Senate races, including Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Martin Heinrich (D-NM), among others.

Senate & Congressional Delegations to Pakistan
- Organized and personally escorted Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) on a diplomatic trip to Pakistan, including visits to North Waziristan, Azad Kashmir, and Indian-occupied Kashmir, marking a significant display of strength in the region during the Trump administration.
- Led additional delegations, including House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Congressman Gregory Meeks and Congressman Ami Bera, with the goal of strengthening U.S.-Pakistan relations and fostering collaboration between the two nations’ parliaments.
- In April 2022, I escorted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to Pakistan, playing a crucial role in the diplomatic revival between the U.S. and Pakistan following strained relations during the previous administration.
Congressional Pakistan Caucus + Foundation
