Strengthening Economic Bridges: DPM/FM Ishaq Dar Meets Business Leaders in New York
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar (@MIshaqDar50), recently held an engaging session with a group of prominent businessmen and investors in New York, as part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to deepen economic ties with the United States.
During the meeting, the DPM/FM highlighted Pakistan’s significantly improved economic outlook, citing key reforms and strategic initiatives undertaken by the government. Central to his message was the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a one-window platform designed to streamline processes for investors in critical sectors including agriculture, information technology, minerals, energy, and tourism.
Senator Dar emphasized the immense potential Pakistan offers—thanks to its large and youthful population, burgeoning digital economy, and strategic geographic location. He called on the Pakistani diaspora and U.S. investors alike to seize the emerging opportunities and work collaboratively toward mutually beneficial economic outcomes.
Among the attendees was Tahir Javed, a distinguished entrepreneur, philanthropist, and political leader known for his dedication to transformative change. With a proven track record in business leadership, healthcare innovation, and community development, Javed’s presence underscored the vital role of diaspora leaders in bridging public-private partnerships and fostering deeper engagement between the two nations.
The participants expressed strong interest in expanding trade and investment links and reiterated their commitment to long-term collaboration aimed at unlocking the full potential of Pakistan-U.S. economic relations.
